UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to work for the common good of others.

We work for mission; for helping women, children and youth right here and around God’s world; for the fellowship; for the leadership training; for education and for being more than we ever dreamed we could be!  And if we can’t go to all the places, our offerings can!

    What a wonderful, exciting ministry!

We get together and have wonderful fellowship, but our reason for gathering doesn’t end there.  We grow spiritually and work in mission for women, children, and youth.  We are women who study, worship, and improve our own lives as well as the lives of those for whom we are in mission.

The United Methodist Woman organization helps us to gain spiritual awareness about how God wants us to help others and we experience the fulfillment of self worth through these lessons in leadership.  As we learn more about those around us, and in the world, we become more willing to give ourselves and our resources to enable others less fortunate (especially women, children and youth)  to become whole persons through Jesus Christ.

At Cold Springs UMC, we have four sub-groups (Circles) that range in age from 25-85 years young.   Each group meets once a month, and as you would expect from any good Methodist, there is always food, fun and fellowship.

But of course we get our work done too.  We have earned the recognition of a Mission Today Unit by meeting more than the required criteria and we work hard to support the mission work of United Methodist Women.

And our work is not limited to missions in far away places.  We prepare and serve meals at the Samaritan House Night Shelter.  We support local missions and outreach programs like Prison MATCH, Cooperative Christian Ministries, Mt Pleasant Food Pantry, CVAN and the Bethlehem Center by giving of our time and our donations.  We host youth activities in our local church and help support our Mission Building Teams.

Ladies you are encouraged to participate in one of our Sub Groups.

There is no better place to fellowship, support and service!

Come join us.
