Stick Kids
The idea of the Cold Springs Stick Kids started as a way to keep kids entering Middle school active in worship services. I got the idea from the Choral festival in Spartanburg, SC.
Jeff Smith, of Salt and Light Ministry founder, held a workshop that I attended. This was 6 years ago. I knew immediately that this was for us. The first four original kids were Ryan Hammill, Alex Kluttz, Lindsey Kluttz and Nichole Stewart. It did not take long and the idea caught on. We have had as many at 18 youth in our group. We have gone many places with our ministry.
We have 13 members now and always looking for more.
We recently made a road trip to Edenton, N.C. We held a workshop for their youth and shared our ministry with Edenton United Methodist Church. I am proud to associated with these special young people. Remember they are the future of Cold Springs UMC.
